About the Artist

Brei Pinzur is a small town artist. She is originally from Oregon, but moved to Tennessee as a way to escape a difficult childhood. Encouraged by her mother, her faith and art also became a way to escape, coping, and eventually acceptance of her past.

Moving to Tennessee turned into one of the biggest blessings of her life. It is there she met her hardworking, sports-loving husband. In their fifteen years of marriage they have been blessed with four children, a bunny, and a yard of chickens.

Brei spends most of her time homeschooling their children. She was given an opportunity to teach art at their local homeschool tutorial. There she teaches art to middle and high school students. Since starting there, it has been a blessing to see so many students gain in understanding and techniques, and the school and students have took home many awards at a yearly competition. In addition to teaching at the tutorial and her children, she also offers private art lessons.

One of her goals in life is to encourage others to always give their very best in their artwork, but also life in general. Art helped her learn to express her feelings when she felt she couldn’t, and so she often is excited to share that with others. Helping especially youth learn how to express their feelings in a way that is healthy and not destructive.

When she is not busy teaching, she can be found learning or practicing many different media including: yarn work (crochet & knitting), tatting, embroidery, and sewing. She also uses more traditional media like: painting with watercolor, acrylics, and oil paints. She uses colored pencils, soft pastels, oil pastels, charcoal, and graphite. She works with wood by carving or wood burning.

As if that isn’t enough she often looks for opportunities to help and bless the community around her. From painting things for the animal shelter, helping her church with their ministries, as well as helping her local 4-H clubs. She even offers paint party groups when she can.
